Heather Rasley

Hi, I’m Heather Rasley, which rhymes with paisley. I was formerly known as Heather Merrick, too.

I’m interested in the intersection of technology + society + culture + art. I’ve been writing about miscellaneous stuff on the internet since 2001.

I have 15 years of experience working at high-growth startups, including Stripe and Tumblr. Most recently, I’ve been focused on AI policy as Director of Trust and Safety at Glif.app.

I attended the Interactive Telecommunications Program (ITP) at NYU, where I learned how to make LEDs blink, among other things. I have a Humanities B.A. from New College of Florida, where my undergraduate thesis explored early online communities.

I’ve lived in cities around the world, including Brooklyn, San Francisco, and Gothenburg, Sweden. Now Seattle is home.
